PESHAWAR:

It has been revealed that the video game PUBG is being used for further coordination in terrorism activities in Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa.

Terrorists were using PUBG to chat and share information in chat groups within the game. According to DPO Swat Dr. Zahid, this is the first time terrorists have used PUBG for such purposes. Previously, most terrorist organisations used Telegram for communication, but now in Swat, terrorists have been found using PUBG to carry out their operations.

Dr Zahid explained that three to four terrorists were communicating within the game, as they knew that chats in PUBG are not monitored, allowing them to use technology secretly to achieve their targets. He further mentioned that in a successful joint operation by Swat Police and CTD, three terrorists involved in the bombing of the Navekelay police post in Swat were arrested.

Weapons, ammunition, and mobile phones used in the incident were recovered with PUBG, installed on the devices, providing crucial evidence from the chat history.

The DPO stated that Swat Police are fully prepared to tackle all kinds of challenges and will not allow the peace in Swat to be disturbed under any circumstances. The three suspects responsible for the attack on the Banr police post have been arrested, and further information from them will help in foiling the plans of enemy elements.

He assured that the protection of the public’s lives and property will be ensured. He shared these thoughts while speaking to media representatives at his office in Gul Kada.
